Umwelt

( ;D --> Coming from the Rave scene in Lyon in the early 90's, Umwelt made his first victims on the dancefloor of numerous warehouses in France. In 1997, he releases his first productions. Combination of analogue rhythms and sounds, his music creates gloomy and electric atmosphere propelling the listeners into abyssal worlds.)

( ;D --> The story of Kite started when Christian Berg (Yvonne, Strip Music) asked Nicklas Stenemo (The Mo, Melody Club) to sing on one of Christian’s instrumental songs. The day after the demo version of ”My girl and I” was finished. They started to make songs at a daily basis in Nicklas’ studio where Christian’s love for monotone synth melted together with Nicklas’ pophits. One day Nicklas sold his Fender guitar and the band Kite was born.)

Koan

( ;D --> Producing sophisticated psychedelic Chill Out music is a discipline within the electronic music scene that is similar to playing Jazz in a certain respect: It needs maturity and extensive musical experience to go beyond the scope of standards, to become really good and extraordinary. This might have to do with the fact that this kind of music is not aiming a busy dance floor, rising its hands and shouting out loud during the breaks.  Instead of that, it is made for the individual mind and therefore includes a less functional but pretty intellectual, mature and also very artistic moment. Seen in front of this background, the history of Koan gives some interesting hints about the astonishing musical quality of this Russian duo.)

( ;D --> Mushy is the solo project of Valentina Fanigliulo, a sound-experimentalist rising from the dusty ruins of Rome, the eternal city. Since 2003, Mushy’s style combines and synthesizes electronica, shoegaze, blues and new-wave, with a psychedelic/kraut soul. Her soundscape-like compositions reveal a spellbinding universe that emerges from the mixture of analog drum-machines, burgeoning cold drones, tempestuous noises and spectral chants. Mushy has been deeply inspired by the works of Cocteau Twins, Dead Can Dance, Slowdive, Lush, Minimal Compact, New Order, Swans, Nico, and legendary singers Nina Simone and Ella Fitzgerald. Mushy’s debut album, ‘Faded Heart’,  has been released by Italian underground label Mannequin Records on Feb 2011. It’s an album recorded essentially at home and its lo-fi charms derives from the amalgamation of obsessive drum-machine loops, synths and an effect-processed old and battered acoustic guitar, found in a flea market with only 4 strings. Mushy considers ‘Faded Heart’ as her personal take on blues. The album was picked as Rough Trade’s Album Of The Week, in March 2011 and was described as the most convincing European answer to contemporaneous releases by American artists such as Zola Jesus and Tamaryn.)

Acylum

( ;D --> On the pressing demand by his growing fanbase, Pedro Engel is offering a bonus disc of the limited carton box edition of 'Karzinom', a remastered version of his self-released and long time deleted first album 'Your Pain V.2.0' reminding us of how hard and strong the Acylum war-machine sounded in its early days. Old school dark elektro 'made in 2005' at its best and setting the first steps of Acylum's ascending power sound. Fans will also notice the additions of several unreleased bonus demo tracks and mixes.)
