Flavor of the Week #4

Rabia Sorda
www.myspace.com/rabiasorda
( ;D --> Rabia Sorda is the side project of Erk Aicrag, lead singer of the Mexican aggrotech band Hocico. Rabia Sorda, like Hocico, is electronic music, though it is somewhat less aggressive and noisy than Hocico. While his main project, Hocico, goes down a certain path, Aicrag uses Rabia Sorda as a vehicle for his own musical creativity. He mixes different aspects ranging from ethnical influences to 1980s-style melodies and punky attitude to aggressive electronic music.)

( ;D --> Cabaret Voltaire were a British music group from Sheffield, England. Initially composed of Stephen Mallinder, Richard H. Kirk, and Chris Watson, the group was named after Cabaret Voltaire, a nightclub in Zürich, Switzerland, that was a centre for the early Dada movement. Their earliest performances were Dada-influenced performance art, but Cabaret Voltaire later developed into one of the most prolific and important groups to blend pop with dance music, techno, dub, house and experimental electronic music.)Drinking Gasoline

Equitant

( ;D --> You don't exactly expect hard techno-EBM coming from Texas (USA), and yet Equitant is a project that has actually been active since the early 1990’s. Equitant stands for high-tech & modern techno-EBM, and can be defined as an offspring between bands like Nitzer Ebb & DAF at one side, and a darkened Giorgio Moroder at the other. You hear some of the hardest beats in old-school EBM, with a touch of old-school techno, and a great deal of hard energy stemming from 1980's electronic music. The mix of both styles is simply irresistible and injects a refreshing boost to the traditional electronic music of today. Equitant’s antecedent sound started out as an ambient synthesizer project in 1993, then evolved to a cold mechanical.)
