Flavor of the week #27

Monolake

www.monolake.de
( ;D --> Monolake is an open project dedicated to computer generated music, founded in 1995 by Robert Henke and Gerhard Behles. Monolake are impressed and influenced by minimal techno music and drum&bass and at the same discovered the sonic richness and sophistication of academic computer music.)
Atlas Titan
M_amazon
( ;D --> This is the first new material released since 2006's 'Polygon Cities' album Cities' and quite frankly, it's class. 'Atlas' is a truly epic opener, setting out on a 138bpm flex with techno-skippin' rhythm fluctuations inheriting a lot of swing from T++'s recent material and mind blowing bass dynamics coaxed into being by Robert Henke's next-level programming skills. The inclusion of an almost-organic sounding woodwind instrument is a clever ploy, as in all reality it's most likely been programmed from pure data, but lends a human element. 'Titan' should satisfy your unnatural cravings with a purist composition of darkside steppers techno, running at 138bpm and morphed between immense occlusions of darkside atmospherics. It's the sound you all know and love, but updated in the true Monolake sense for 2009. Essential!)

Sven Weisemann

( ;D --> Sven Weisemann is a somewhat strange figure in Berlin's electronic music scene. When he's not making elegantly smooth deep house tracks for labels like Mojuba, Liebe*Detail and House Cafe Music, he's busy composing modern classical pieces for piano and cello. Those more familiar with Weisemann's own productions may be surprised by his DJing style, as he weaves effortlessly between his trademark deeper sound and classic house and techno dancefloor jack tracks.)

Namito

www.namito.com
( ;D --> Undoubtedly, Namito belongs to the very designers of the Berlin techno scene. Since 1992, due to his distinctive sets, he is constantly booked by all major clubs in town, be it the legendary “E-Werk” or “Tresor”, where he raved the crowd as a resident for years. In 1996, Namito’s first releases caught the attraction of European clubs such as London's Turnmills and the Brancaleone in Rome. By meeting Martin Eyerer in 2004, Namito redefines his sound. As a result, he has releases on labels like Multicolor, Kling Klong and Great Stuff. Furthermore, he then remixes for acts such as Kosheen, Client and Gusgus.)
Eleven

( ;D --> Eleven” has it all: the deepness of late night grooves combined with the audiophile finesse that makes Namito’s productions so tight and crisp. A very laidback attitude and a lot of knowledge and feeling combined with a lot of imagination equal a massive ride that never sounds worn out or prefabricated.)
