Flavor of the week #25

Tyske ludder
www.myspace.com/tyskeludder
( ;D --> The next big thing! Everybody, who thought that this band ran out of steam - get ready for the best TYSKE LUDDER album ever! Once being called Oldschool-EBM legend, TYSKE LUDDER easily manage it to step out of their own shadow and start a new chapter in the band's 20 years history with new and fresh sounds combining Electro- and EBM-sounds. Harsh beats collide with soundscapes that fight against Albert's dominant and unique voice - tracks like "Shookz", "Frya Frisena" or "Bastard" will definitely smash up your ass.)

Luke Slater/ Planetary Assault System
www.myspace.com/thereallukeslater
( ;D --> For some fifteen years now the name of Luke Slater has been synonymous with quality electronic music. Atechno alchemist, Slater has always sought out the extreme often melding influences and styles into a furious and unique sound that has seen him acclaimed as one of the pioneers of British techno. Yet he has never been happy to remain static, preferring a constant quest of exploration and musical discovery. His many and varied releases have seen him mature from an acid house inspired amateur to respected elder statesman of the global electronic empire.)
Temporary Suspension

( ;D --> The next OstGut Ton is coming from Luke Slater. The Brit released his first record exactly 20 years ago and has been working as an ambitious artist under numerous pseudonyms producing a broad range of electronic music ever since. Be it tough detroit techno, obscure electronica, ambient, or conceptual electro – Slater has definitely left his stamp on the last two decades as a DJ and a producer. After contributing a gorgeous ambient piece as The 7th Plain to our Ballet cd „Shut Up And Dance! Updated“, Luke now is returning to OstGut Ton under his legendary techno pseudonym as Planetary Assault Systems.
The „Temporary Suspension“ EP is a taster for his forthcoming, eponymously titled album on OstGut Ton. “Planetary has always been about going forward, music and mind states working together, pushing movements and alpha waves on the dancefloor“ says Slater.)

( ;D --> Uwe Schmidt is one of those producers with whom it's worth taking a step back from, just to look in awe at his esteemed catalogue. Over a handful of years, the German producer has released countless albums under countless monikers -- Atom Heart, Dropshadow Disease, Dos Tracks, Midisport, Senor Coconut, LB, Erik Satin -- each showing yet another facet to his astounding talent. He makes electronic music, but this is electronic music with a whimsy and a cracked sense of musical form unlike anything you've heard before.)

The Mole
www.myspace.com/eslamolita
( ;D --> Born in Canada, the Mole (Colin de la Plante) spent time in both British Columbia and Quebec, which might explain something about the origins of his sound. From the west coast, he gets the jazzy, soulful exuberance of Cobblestone Jazz's Mathew Jonson and the B.C.-based Wagon Repair label; from the east, the polished restraint associated with Montreal's MUTEK festival. (De la Plante has collaborated extensively with both crews.) While the Mole's 2005 EP One Foot on Either Side of the Ladder is split between punchy minimal techno and a disco vibe, on subsequent releases -- the EPs Conversations With My Past, In My Song and Baby, You're the One and the 2008 album As High As the Sky, all for Wagon Repair -- his sound just gets deeper and deeper. Relying heavily on looped disco samples, the Mole follows in the footsteps of Theo Parrish and Moodymann, but his proximity to the techno scene in Berlin, where he lives, lends his music a crisper sound.)
For the lost

( ;D --> Trance-inducing delay loops move around the mix like tides in 'For The Lost', consequently bringing to mind Underworld in a fairly big way. 'There's Hope' is a grittier, more groove-based, disco-tinged affair that shows the sort of variety at the disposal of Mole-man Colin De La Plante. Good stuff.)
